A small early morning fire in the plastics department at Kohler set off sprinkler heads and was said to have caused little damage according to Fire Marshal Buddy Preston.

“It was big enough to set off the sprinklers; but didn’t cause much damage since the fire was contained by the sprinkler system,” said Preston.

The Brownwood Fire Department arrived shortly after 5:00am and Preston said the fire was mostly contained and that they spent most of their time on scene clearing smoke from the building.

A work bench and cabinet which contained some spare parts were damaged in the fire.  No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is undetermined according to Preston.
