A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested two suspects on drug charges early Wednesday morning after a traffic stop. Sheriff’s officials said that they arrested Cynthia Webb and Christopher Lovett during the stop and found approximately 10 grams of meth.

Shortly after 1:00am the deputy noticed two vehicles with their hazard lights flashing travelling eastbound in the 300 block of W. Commerce.  According to the report, the front vehicle had a defective headlamp.

The two vehicles pulled into the Value Inn and the female passenger of the front vehicle, identified as 39-year-old Cynthia Webb went into the motel while the other vehicle’s driver got out of his vehicle and then quickly returned to it upon seeing the BSCO deputy, the report states.  Webb entered the lobby of the motel, walked out after approximately 10 seconds, and returned to the front vehicle.  Both Webb and the male’s actions were suspicious to the deputy so he continued to observe them while Webb’s vehicle pulled around to the back of the motel, the report states.

The deputy followed Webb’s vehicle to the back parking lot of the motel where he identified her and the driver, 25-year-old Christopher Lovett.  Consent was given to search the vehicle and two bags were found which contained approximately 10 grams of methamphetamines and supplies such as plastic baggies, spoons, Q-tips, scooping straws, tweezers, digital scales, hypodermic needles, aluminum foil and other evidence related to drug distribution, the deputy’s report states.

Two glass meth pipes were surrendered by Lovett, which had been concealed in the crotch of his pants prior to his exiting the vehicle, according to the report.  $791 in cash was seized out of Webb’s purse along with various written evidence and receipts.

Both Webb and Lovett denied ownership of the narcotics, the report states. They were both placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, more than 4 grams, less than 200 grams and Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, more than 4 grams, less than 200 grams in a Drug Free Zone (because the arrest was less than 1000 feet from Riverside Park).  Both are being held in the Brown County Jail.
