The Brownwood Fire Department announced their department awards Thursday night for fire officer of the year and firefighter of the year at their annual Christmas party.

“The peers really vote for all of these awards,” said Brownwood Fire Chief Del Albright. “A lot of people put a lot of good work in this year, not only in this community but all over the state so it was a very hard choice.”

Fire officer for 2011 was awarded to Kevin Barclift.

Firefighter of the year was awarded to Chad Hill.
