The Early Junior FFA Skills Team advanced to the State FFA Leadership Development Events Contest held at Sam Houston State University last week. 

According to one of their sponsors, Misty Cozart, to reach the state contest the team had to advance  at the Cross Timbers District contest which was held in Hamilton,Texas where they placed 1st in Early’s district.  Next, they competed at the Area IV contest held at Tarleton State University, where they placed 2nd advancing to the state contest. 

The team competed on Friday, December 2 in the state semi-finals then advanced to the finals held on Saturday, December 3rd.  These students placed 10th in the State of Texas out of 241 Jr. Skills Teams.  Members of the 2011 Early Jr. FFA Skills team are Beth Carrier, Jacey Guest, and Andee Jo Rose.
