SantaMrsClausA lighted Christmas Parade will be hosted by the Bangs Business Association in their city at 5:30pm on Saturday, December 10th and the public is invited to join in the holiday festivities.

The Grand Marshal of the parade this year is Mickie Wooldridge, a lifetime Bangs resident who has contributed greatly to the community over the years according to organizers.  Wooldridge has also served many years as the Bangs Post Master.

Terry Bennie, parade organizer for the Bangs Business Association, said no deadline has been set to sign-up to participate, but advance sign-up will allow planners to prepare for entries.   The Bangs Volunteer Fire Department will be assisting with traffic control.  For more information or advance sign-up, call Bennie at (325) 647-1480 or Dennis Lilley at (325) 642-5605.  No entry fees are charged to enter the parade and everyone is welcome.

Parade line up will be on Gantt Street at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10th.  Participants should enter Gantt Street from Ash Street, other entrances will be blocked.

The lighted Parade will leave Gantt St at 5:30 p.m.; turn right on Hwy 586 and go one block; turn right on Fitzgerald and go west to South 1st Street; turn right on South 1st Street and go north to Kyle Street; turn right on Kyle Street and go east to South 3rd Street; turn right on South 3rd Street and back to starting point.  (See parade route below).

Following the parade, everyone young & “young at heart” is encouraged to visit Santa & Mrs. Claus at the Volunteer Fire Department Fire Hall.  Free Cookies & Hot Chocolate will be served.
