EMS One Act Play Earns Awards at District Competition

OneActPlay2011

The Early Middle School One-Act Play team performed in the District 6-AA competition on December 1, 2011. The team was ranked 3rd overall and also received special cast and crew awards. This was the first year EMS has competed in One-Act Play.

The team performed the one-act comedy “The Magic Well” by Herman Ammann. The cast and crew included:

KK Whitley – Co-Manager

Lily Reagan – Co-Manager & Prologue

Austin Frakes – Stage Crew & Lighting Tech

April Burch – Dragon

Mark Benton – Old King Cole

Madison Horton – Old Woman

Tyler Thompson – Old Man

Danielle Contreras – Town Poet

Taylor Turner- Town Fool

Maggie Yantis- Old Hag

Cassie Durden – Mrs. Blinky

Asa Welker – Prince Arlo Marlow

Andrea Contreras – Tissy

Erin Anderson – Prissy

Meagan Richmond – Lissy

Garrett Marsh – Frog

Cast & Crew Awards went to KK Whitley for All-Star Crew, Madison Horton and Maggie Yantis for All-Star Cast, and Tyler Thompson for Honorable Mention All-Star Cast.

The EMS One-Act Play Team is directed by Ren Yantis. Special thanks to Rhonda Howard for consulting, and Amanda Mitchell & Courtney Brandstetter for assistance with costume design.
