Downtown Brownwood, Inc. is continuing its holiday tradition of exposing the public to historic properties in Brownwood.  The annual Past, Present and Future tour of downtown Brownwood will offer participants a look into the rich history that downtown has to offer and a look inside several of the historic properties.

The tour will include a look at Weakley Watson Sporting Goods and the Brownwood Bulletin, two of the oldest businesses in Brownwood, and will outline their history. The Lyric Theatre, which is currently under major renovation, will also be on the tour giving participants an update of the restoration project.   A stop at the Brown County courthouse is also scheduled offering histories of some of the buildings on the square as well as future plans for other properties along the tour route.

As an added treat, the home located at 707 Center Avenue known as the historic RB Rogers house (pictured) is also on the tour and is in the midst of a total remodel.   Refreshments will also be provided during the tour.

The Past, Present and Future tour is scheduled for Thursday, December 8th.  The buses, provided by City and Rural Rides, will board promptly at 5:30pm at the parking lot of the Depot Civic and Cultural Center. Participants in the tour may ride a bus or take their own vehicle.

Tickets are available at KOXE radio and the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce office for $5.00 each.  Tickets are limited.  Call 325-646-9535 for more information.
