BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 11/28

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of November 20-26, 2011 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 20 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 2 fire calls, 2 hazardous material calls, and 3 electrical problems.

Reports of interest include:

Monday, November 21

*6:02am – BFD responded to a hazardous materials call where a carbon monoxide detector activated.  The incident was determined to be caused by low batteries.

*4:48pm – BFD was dispatched to an electrical wiring problem.

Tuesday, November 22

*7:24pm – BFD conducted a hazardous material investigation with nothing found.

 

Wednesday, November 23

*10:41pm – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident at 300 Main Street.  Fire crews provided light to find a vehicle in the ditch of Pecan Bayou.

Thursday, November 24

* 2:03am – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 1000 block of Austin Avenue where a vehicle struck a utility pole. Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.

*1:23pm – BFD was called to a fire in the area of the 1000 block of Crayton Street.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find two small grass fires.  The fire was extinguished and the fire marshal was notified to investigate the cause of the fire.

Friday, November 25

*2:01pm – BFD was called to investigate a problem with some electrical wiring.  The incident was found to be a heater.

*8:24pm – BFD was dispatched to the 1700 block of 3rd Street regarding problems with electrical equipment.  A stove was shorting out. The property was secured.

Saturday, November 26

* 3:40pm – BFD responded to a fire call in the 4400 block of Westridge Drive. Fire crews responded to a call regarding the smell of smoke.  After investigation, it was found to be smell of dust from central heater.
