Shemane_zumbaHoward Payne University and Fitness Fusion are hosting a Zumba Master Class benefiting the Toys for Kids project on Thursday, December 1, and the event will feature instructor Shemane Nugent, wife of rock star Ted Nugent as the instructor.  The event will take place from 6 – 7:30pm at the Howard Payne University Wellness Center.

No dance or Zumba experience is needed to participate, everyone is invited to come be a part of the class or just come and watch the fun.  Admission to the class is a new toy that be donated to the Toys for Kids project.  The Toys for Kids project helps families in need at Christmas provide gifts of toys for their children.

According to co-sponsor Susan Oliver of Fitness Fusion, “The sign-up for needy families is currently taking place with over 700 children needing toys as of today.”

Pre-registration for the event is recommended as space is limited.  Registration forms are available at: HPU Wellness Center (on campus), Nathana’s Tanning, Fancy’s Day Spa, Curves of Brownwood, and at Fitness Fusion Studio.

Shemane Nugent is a popular ZIN Jammer, who travels the world helping Zumba instructors develop new choreography and teaching skills. She has appeared on many television shows, such as Fox & Friends, Hannity and Colmes, Entertainment Tonight, and many regional radio programs. She films, hosts, and produces the People’s Choice Award Winning show-Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild- on the Outdoor Channel.  Shemane was appointed to the Michigan Govenor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health & Sports, and was also named Detroit’s Most Physical Female.  Shemane does many charity events, such as Relay for Life and has a charity foundation called Freedom’s Angels, which benefits American soldiers.  Nugent is donating her entire fee for teaching as a Zumba Jammer™ to the Toys for Kids project.
