Santa’s Sleigh 5K Fun Run Set for December 3rd

Christmas_Logo_2011The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce announced that their 5K fun run will once again be a part of the Christmas Under the Stars Festival.

The Santa’s Sleigh 5K Fun Run and 1.5 Mile Walk will take place at Gordon Wood Stadium on Saturday, December 3rd.  Registration and warm up will begin at 7:00 AM with a shotgun start promptly at 8:00 AM.  Registration forms are available at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce or online at VisitBrownwood.com under the Christmas Festival section.   Runners can also register online at Active.com. 

Entry fee for the fun run is $20 if paid by November 30th and $25 after that.  T-shirts will be available to the first 100 participants to register for the race.

This year, all proceeds from the event will benefit the First United Methodist Church Weekday Preschool.

All runners are encouraged to dress in Christmas costumes to show their holiday spirit.

The Christmas Under the Stars Festival will take place December 2nd and 3rd at the Depot Plaza and will feature many other great activities in addition to the 5K run such as photos with Santa, live music, entertainment, children’s activities, and much more.   Go to VisitBrownwood.com for a complete list of activities, times, and locations.
