Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3278 and the Ladies & Men’s Auxiliary will observe Veterans Day on Friday, November 11th with participation in the annual Veterans Day Parade.  The public is invited to attend the event.

The observance of Veterans Day is to honor all Veterans and thank them for their service to our country.  The theme for the parade is “The Aftermath of Pearl Harbor”.

The parade will begin at 10:00am at the Brownwood Coliseum.  Line up begins at 8:00am.  Awards for “Most Patriotic”, “Closest to the Theme”, and “Most Original” will be awarded, stated organizers.

A ceremony featuring patriotic music, a flyover by local pilots and a speaker will follow after the parade at 11:00am at the Margaret and Stuart Coleman Plaza at the Depot.

The Post selected to replicate the Battleship Missouri, (BB63), as the battleship was the site of the formal surrender of Japan September 2, 1945.   (Pictured above, VFW Post Commander Keith King and James Masters work on BB63 for the Veterans Day Parade on Friday).

To submit an entry in the parade, please call the Veterans Service office at 325-646-0335.
