Funeral services for Virginia Catharine McMillan Underwood will be Saturday November 5, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Heartland Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Underwood passed away November 1, 2011 in Lubbock.
She was born October 12, 1918 in McCulloch County, Texas to Hulin Ross and Laura Ethel Tyson McMillan. On November 20, 1936 Virginia was married to James Andrew Underwood in Comanche, Texas. He passed away in 2006. She was a homemaker, Mother and beautician. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Virginia is survived by her children Jean Starr and husband Nelson of Highland Village, Texas, James Underwood and wife Mary Jo of Lubbock, Texas, Jesse Underwood and wife Holly of Lubbock, Texas and Ann Skelly and husband Gerry of Magnolia, Texas. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. Virginia is survived by two sisters, Mary Blackburn of Ft. Worth, Texas and Deanie Phillips of Ft. Worth, Texas and one brother J.B. McMillan of Rockwall, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Underwood, her parents, two sisters; Loretta Hamm and Rose McMillan and one brother Curtis McMillan.
