In an effort to recruit more retail to Brownwood, officials are planning to attend the International Council of Shopping Centers annual conference in San Antonio next week.

Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes, Brownwood Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Emily Crawford, and Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce Marketing Manager Ray Tipton will attend the conference on November 2-4.

Brownwood will be represented at the show with a full size booth and display marketing its location, retail trade area, and business opportunity.   Officials said that they have several appointments set with developers and retailers to talk to them about the benefits of coming to Brownwood. 

The consulting firm the Retail Coach recommended that the city have a presence at the conference, according to officials.  Those attending the show will be armed with the recent retail analysis that the Retail Coach completed which included a retail gap analysis, psychographic profile, and a consumer propensity report.
