Law enforcement arrests and reports released Friday, October 14, 2011.

Thursday, October 13

* 8:28am-A Brownwood Officer was on patrol when a male subject flagged him down to report a damaged fence at his car lot, Bostick’s Auto Sales, in the 2200 block of Belle Plain.

*6:00pm-Brownwood Animal Control responded to the 2600 block of Vine Street regarding an animal at large.  According to the report, a woman reported that a pit bull had attacked her cat and was still running loose with another smaller black dog.  An off duty policeman who lives in the area followed the pit bull back to its home and made contact with the owner who agreed to pay the expenses for the cat to be treated for the injuries caused by his dog.  The owner stated that he “wanted to do the right thing,” the report states.   The smaller black dog did not belong to the pit bull’s owner and was captured by animal control and taken to the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center.  It had no collar, so the owner could not be identified.  According to the report, the pit bull was restrained inside its own backyard until the owner who stated he did not know if he wanted to keep a dog that would injure and possibly kill another animal.

*7:38pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3200 block of Stephen F. Austin.  The complainant reported that an unknown subject had entered a vacant trailer in the area and removed a few items that had been left behind by a previous tenant.  The property had been left unlocked and it was determined that the entry was made between the hours of 8:00pm and 9:00pm, the report states.

*9:29pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Main Street, Kroger, regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant advised that an unknown male stole an unknown amount of Bud Light Lime beer.

*11:42pm-Brownwood police responded to the1300 block of 11th Street regarding a domestic disturbance.  Upon investigation, it was determined that the suspect, 21-year-old Damian Jefferson, and the victim had recently ended their relationship and that the victim had been paying his cell phone bill for some months while they were dating according to police.   Police stated that since the pair’s breakup, the victim was no longer paying Jefferson’s cell phone bill and Jefferson became angry.  According to police, Jefferson beat on the door of the victim’s residence and then forced his way into the home by breaking a window in the door to gain entry.  Jefferson and the victim began arguing and fighting and he pulled a large amount of the victim’s hair out according to police.  The victim ran out of the house as Jefferson grabbed the television and threw it on the floor, knocked the entertainment center over and then threw a small recliner across the room according to police.  Jefferson was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Assault.
