The Blanket Community will be celebrating Frontier Day and the 75th Anniversary of Future Farmers of America (FFA) in Blanket on Saturday, October 8th on Main Street and at the Rodeo Arena.

The day will begin at 7:00 am with citywide garage sales along with vendors selling various wares.  There will be antique car and tractor shows, a rodeo play-day benefiting JDRF, youth football, Dutch oven and brisket/bean cook-offs and even an art show featuring art of the Blanket ISD students at the museum.

One of the highlights of the day will be a birthday party for the ex-Ag teachers at 11:30 am in the school cafeteria.  A dedication of the Blanket Cemetery historical marker will also be held.

A parade will begin at 2:30 pm, followed by family entertainment from 3 to 8 pm.

Registration for door prizes will begin at the Blanket ISD football game Friday night and will continue throughout Saturday at each venue’s registration booth.  The door prize drawing will be at 3:00 pm Saturday at the Central Information Booth in the Blanket Historical Museum.

The day will end with a street dance from 8 to 11 pm featuring Shane Parker. (Alcohol will not be allowed at the dance.)
