Law enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, September 27, 2011.

Saturday, September 24

*12:58pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 200 block of Yale Street regarding the theft of a bicycle.  The complainant stated his son had left the bicycle with other bikes lying next to his residence and that he believed the theft occurred between 8:30pm on September 23rd and 12:58pm on September 24th.  The bicycle was described as a red and white boy’s bicycle which is valued at $100.

Monday, September 26

*6:18am-Brownwood Police found a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana in the back passenger floorboard of a marked Brownwood Police Department (BPD) patrol car.  The substance was secured into the evidence room at BPD.

*9:38am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the MHMR Center in the 400 block of Mulberry regarding harassment.  According to the report, a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend came to her residence three days prior and wanted inside; however when she refused to let him in, he threatened her stating, “Let me in or you will be sorry.”

*12:20pm-Brownwood Police received a report of a hit and run accident.  The complainant stated while she was at Wal-Mart, her vehicle was damaged on the back left quarter panel.  Damage was estimated to be $812.

*3:30pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce where asset protection employees had detained a male subject identified as 25-year-old Royce B. Thompson, Jr.  Asset protection employees stated that “Thompson had intended to steal several rolls of ground beef and brisket totaling $249.38”, the report states.  Thompson was arrested for Theft of Property $50-$500.

*6:17pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 100 block of Streckert Drive regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  The complainant stated that her vehicle had been broken into and her purse stolen out of the vehicle.  The purse contained items which included a credit card which was already being used in Brownwood, according to the report.  Follow-up was made where the credit card was reported to have been used.

Tuesday, September 27

*3:20am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Avenue B regarding identity theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a known subject was believed to have fraudulently used her identification to obtain cell phone service.  The complainant indicated that she is now receiving collection notices on the account and the account has been reflected on her credit report.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
