Geraldine (Triplitt) Campbell

CampbellGeraldineFuneral Services for Geraldine (Triplitt) Campbell, age 85 of Brownwood, will be held on Sunday September 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with John Clifford officiating, interment to follow at Zephyr Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. She passed away Friday September 23, 2011 in Brownwood, Texas. Geraldine was born on May 14, 1926 in Cross Cut, Texas to W.A. and Allie (Chambers) Triplitt.

She was married to G.W. Rankin for 30 years, during that time, Geraldine was

Co-owner of a local Grocery Store and Café in Rosebud, TX.  G. W. preceded her in death in 1978; she was also a graduate from Tarleton State College where she studied Business. She was a bank teller in Waco for many years, then moved to Brownwood and continued working as a Bank Teller at First National Bank. She married John Campbell in Zephyr on June 11, 1981. Geraldine was a faithful member of the Eastern Star, and also enjoyed ranching.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be missed by many.

 

Survivors include her husband, John Campbell of Brownwood, Texas; 1 son, David Rankin and wife Melissa of Richardson, TX; 4 step-children, Ronald Campbell of Humble, TX, Gloria Larremore and husband Freddy of Brownwood, Barbara Jernigan and husband Gaylon of Mullin, TX, and George Campbell and wife Kim of Blanket. A step-daughter-in-law; Hopie Campbell of Arlington, TX, also 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents; W.A. and Allie Triplitt, her previous husband; G.W. Rankin,  1 daughter; Dana Coy of Austin, TX; and 1 sister; Irma Grace Triplitt of Zephyr.
