Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes 9/22

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water clear; 16.17′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon Bass Hogg spinnerbaits and green pumpkin Trickster Worms over brush piles in 12–18 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies off lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on cut bait and stinkbait over baited holes. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with perch.

Lake Coleman

Water clear; 78–82 degrees; 15.63′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 85–90 degrees; 35.04′ low. Black bass are fair to good on Zell Pops, Senkos, Texas rigs and Rat–L–Traps. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on slabs. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.

Lake Proctor

Water stained; 83–86 degrees; 10.94′ low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are fair on silver spoons. White bass are fair on slabs. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp and liver. Yellow catfish are fair on live bait.
