stingemjacketssatlogoHoward Payne University will host a Sting ’Em Saturday event on Sept. 17 for prospective students interested in getting to know HPU better. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free of charge.

This year, Sting ’Em Saturday is being held in conjunction with Family Weekend, and prospective students will learn about life as a Yellow Jacket first-hand from current students and their families, as well as faculty and staff.

“The Office of Admission is so excited about Sting ’Em Saturday,” said P.J. Gramling, director of admissions. “Our registration numbers are indicating that twice as many prospective students have registered for this year’s event as compared to last year.”

While here, guests will have the opportunity to take part in a campus tour, meet HPU faculty during the Faculty and Families Continental Breakfast, learn about admission and financial aid and enjoy an outdoor picnic. Guests will also have the opportunity to attend free HPU athletic events, with the football team playing Sul Ross State University and the women’s and men’s soccer teams playing LeTourneau University.

For more information, contact HPU’s Office of Admission at 325-649-8020. Registration is also available online at www.hputx.edu.
