One of the most highly anticipated competitions of the Brownwood Reunion Celebration, Hand’s on-a House, is extending its registration period to allow more hopeful contestants a chance to compete for a playhouse.

The application deadline is being extended through Wednesday, September 14.  Applications are available at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, and at all sponsors: Coldwell Banker, Texas Bank, and Brownwood High School.  Please turn in applications at Coldwell Banker, 1900 Austin Avenue by the deadline.

The playhouse to be given away is a replica of the old Lindsay’s Drive-In, and is being built this year by student at Brownwood High School.

Hands on a House selects 16 contestants from the entries received.  These have not been selected yet and those interested in competing should get an application in now.  Contestants will help with a food drive benefitting Good Samaritan Ministries and St. John’s Food Pantry.  The contestant who collects the most cans/food items wins an extra break during the competition.  Other games and challenges will continue throughout the contest.  Contestants will also be a part of the Reunion Parade as well.  Former contestants (if not wishing to compete) are welcome to apply to help judge the event.  Judges change every two hours.

The Hands on a House competition will kick off the evening of Friday, September 16 and will last until there is a winner.
