Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas Board Recognizes Chance Barr for Outstanding Service

On August 17, 2011, the Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas Board held its regular scheduled meeting at the Taylor County Plaza, 400 Oak Street, Abilene, Texas. Chance Barr of Brownwood, was recognized for outstanding service and commitment, during his term (2009-2011) as Board Chairman.

Chance, along with his father, Bo Barr and step mother, Sandra Barr own and operate Barr Fabrication, a manufacturing company deeply rooted in the wind energy industry. The company specializes in components for wind towers and turbines.  Chance is also an owner in Barr Fabrication Field Services and McDermett Milner (a management company).  

Mr. Barr will continue to serve as a member of the Board, providing his leadership and experience as a businessman in the private sector. As former Board Chair “I hope we have grown stronger as a region by continuing to open lines of communication between businesses, education, economic development and the workforce.”

The Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas Board is one of 28 boards in the state charged with oversight and policy-making responsibility for workforce and training programs in a nineteen county region.
