WalkerMaryJoFuneral services for Mary Jo Walker, age 77, of Rising Star will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30 at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Barnum officiating.  Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 29 at the funeral home.  Mrs. Walker passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth.

Mary Jo was born on May 30, 1934 in Gorman, Texas to Joe Gaines and Mary Elizabeth (Tanner) Price.   She married Jerry Walker on February 18, 1951 in Gustine.  They lived in New Mexico from 1953 until moving back to Lake Brownwood in 1986.  They moved from the lake to Rising Star in 2003.  Mary Jo was a member of the Baptist Church, as well as a lifetime member Rebekah Lodge. 

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Jerry Walker of Rising Star; two daughters, Gwen Fritchel of Royce City and Debbie Richardson and husband, A.K. of Brownwood; two grandchildren, John Christopher Spradling of Plano and Wyndy Ramirez of Houston; two great grandchildren; brother, J.T. Price of Rockwall; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Price; brother, Garland Price, sister, Ennie Matthews and one grandson, Dustin Wynne.
