James “J.J.” Medlock

Funeral Services for James “J.J.” Medlock, age 93, of Brownwood, will be held Friday August 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brown County with Tim Skaggs officiating, interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. He passed away Wednesday August 10, 2011 in Brownwood, Texas. James was born on November 04, 1917 in Craig, Colorado to James Bruce and Lillie Gertrude (Herod) Medlock.

He married Eunice May (Ross) Medlock on December 23, 1939 at First Baptist Church in Salem, Missouri; he was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

James also enjoyed traveling, polishing rocks, and doing woodwork, and was in employed with Dow Chemical for over 20 years; he will be remembered and missed by many.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Eunice Medlock of Brownwood, 2 sons; Roy Medlock and wife Linda of Brownwood; and Mike Medlock of Angleton, TX. 2 granddaughters; Sandra Irwin and husband Allen of Brownwood; Vicki Lynn and husband Pat McLaughlin of Brownwood. Great-grandchildren; Crissy Lundy, Ashley McLaughlin, Patrick McLaughlin, Megan Irwin, Cameron McLaughlin, and Alex McLaughlin. Also, 1 great-great-grandchild; Jake Lundy.    James is preceded in death by his parents James and Lillie Medlock, 3 brothers; Oscar Medlock, Brucie Medlock, and Elmer Medlock; and 2 sisters; Rebecca Medlock, and Bulah Keeling.
