mainThe City of Brownwood announces that lap swimming is now available during a special morning session for exercise only, four days a week at the Camp Bowie Family Aquatic center.

Lap Swimming will be available at the Camp Bowie Family Aquatic Center 7:00am to 8:30am (1 ½ hours) Tuesday through Fridays. The Lap Swimming area will be the only area of the pool open during these hours – none of the other features of the pool will be open. Standard admission rates will apply.

One lifeguard will be available during this time for participants.

City officials state that is it undetermined how long this session will be available as it will be offered according to the level of interest and attendance of the session.  It is hoped that the session continues to be well received and that it will be feasible to continue it through the end of September or possibly longer.

The city announced earlier that this week (Aug 2-7) will be the last full week of normal operation for the facility, but one additional weekend has been added to the schedule.  Camp Bowie Family Aquatic Center will be open one additional weekend – Saturday, August 13 from 2:15pm to 5:45pm and Sunday, August 14 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.

Please contact Brownwood Parks & Recreation at (325) 646-0146 for any questions.
