Local officials, business leaders, and residents attended a reception on Tuesday for Emily Crawford, Executive Director for the Brownwood Economic Development Corporation.

Crawford began her duties with the BEDC in April of this year after the previous director, James Campbell, announced his retirement.  The two worked together during a transition period before Campbell officially left his position in May.

“I am very excited about working with the BEDC board and of course our city council in continuing to support local businesses and industry to thrive,” stated Crawford when she was hired for the position.

Representatives from several businesses attended the reception to introduce themselves to Crawford at the event held at city hall.
