Early High School Principal Susan Haynes gave her resignation last week and is officially retiring from the Early ISD effective last Friday, July 29, according to Early ISD Superintendent Brett Koch.

With short notice before the start of school, the superintendent and the EISD school board are now challenged with finding a replacement for Haynes quickly, Koch said.

“Early ISD has a specially called board meeting Thursday night at 6:00 pm to discuss what direction to go,” stated Koch.

Haynes’ resignation came with little notice; however Koch stated that she was an outstanding employee.

“I will say that she did an outstanding job, she was a great, a strong principal,” stated Koch.

Koch stated that he supports her decision for retirement.

“I support her decision and what’s best for her,” said Koch.

Koch said that he hopes to have some good prospects to present at the board meeting on Thursday.

“We will do what’s best for Early High School,” said Koch.

Haynes has been principal at Early High School since 2009.
