Although students are still enjoying summer, Early ISD is making preparations for the 2011-2012 school year. New and returning student registration dates and “Back-to-School Celebrations” dates are listed below. Early ISD students return for the first day of school on Monday, August 22, 2011.
EARLY PRIMARY:
Kindergarten and Prekindergarten & NEW Students in grades 1 and 2: Monday, July 11 – Thursday, July 28
Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before September 1st and must reside within Early school district. Parents may register their children in the Primary School office from 8:30-11:00 and from 1:00-5:00 each day. The office is closed on Fridays during the summer months. Birth certificates, immunization records, social security cards, proof of residency, records from previous schools, and photo identification of the person who is enrolling children are required.
To qualify for prekindergarten, children must be 4 years old on or before September 1st and must be unable to speak and comprehend English, be homeless, or qualify for free or reduced school lunches. Children who are or have been foster children qualify. Additionally, children whose parents are active duty uniformed members of the U.S. military may qualify for prekindergarten.
**Back-to-School Celebration for all children in grades PK-2: Friday, August 19, from 5:30-6:30 pm in the classrooms. Children will meet their teachers; locate their classrooms, desks, and lockers; bring their supplies; and purchase breakfast/lunch tickets at that time.
EARLY ELEMENTARY
NEW Students: August 8th – 12th
NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
**Back-to-School Celebration for all children in grades 3-5: Friday, August 19, from 6:00-7:00 pm
EARLY MIDDLE SCHOOL:
NEW Students: Tuesday, August 9 & Wednesday, August 10
NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
**Back-to-School Meeting for all students in grades 6-8: Thursday, August 18
— 6th graders meet at 6:00 pm
— 7th-8th graders meet at 7:00 pm
EARLY HIGH SCHOOL:
Current Students: Wednesday, August 3, 2011
Class schedules will be available according to the following times:
Freshmen: 8:00 am – 9:00 am
Sophomores: 9:00 am – 10:00 am
Juniors: 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Seniors: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
2:00-4:00 Registration for all students taking a college/dual credit course; representatives will be on site
NEW Students: Thursday, August 4, 2011
