Danny Armstrong Bruce Toeppich & Jennetta Brown

The 2 of Us fished their final tournament of the season on Lake Sweetwater on July 9th.  It was hot with a little bit of wind.  Lake Sweetwater is a 14-18 inch slot lake so therefore you can only keep fish that are under 14 inches in length and over 18 inches in length.   Danny Armstrong had to fish the couple’s tournament by himself as his wife couldn’t make it and some say that is good but some say that is bad.  Danny Armstrong from Brownwood was our first place winner and he also was the Men’s Big Bass Winner.

Bruce Toeppich and Jennetta Brown from Brownwood placed 2nd and Jennetta won the Women’s Big Bass with her bass weighting 3.58 lbs.  Cory and Deirdre Colyer from Abilene placed third and Gary Webb and Phyllis Crable from Lubbock place third.  Everyone had a great time.

The race for Anglers of the year was a close one this year.  Bruce Toeppich and Jennetta Brown were the Anglers of the Year for the 2011 season.   The 2 of Us Championships will be held on Toledo Bend Lake in October and looks like Brownwood will be well represented as two of the couples fishing the championship from the west region will be from Brownwood.  They are Danny and Brenda Armstrong along with Bruce Toeppich and Jennetta Brown.

We would like to thank all of our area sponsors for all of their donations during this season of the 2 of Us Couples Tournaments.
