Reminder: Boy Scouts to Present Distinguished Citizen Awards

The Boy Scouts of America, Texas Trails Council will honor Brownwood residents J. Fred Perry and Calvin Fryar on August 16th as the 2011 distinguished citizens.

The honors will be presented to the men at the Boy Scout’s 2011 Distinguished Citizens Award Dinner that will be held in Brownwood.

“It is our pleasure to honor J. Fred Perry and Calvin Fryar as joint recipients of the 2011 Distinguished Citizen Award in recognition of their outstanding leadership and service to our country, state and community,” said Judge Steve Ellis, President of Texas Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America.  “You won’t find men more dedicated to the principals the Boy Scouts of America have stood for in excess of 100 years.”

The event will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2011 with a reception at 6:00 p.m. at the Lehnis Railroad Museum and a dinner at 7:00 p.m. at the Brownwood Coliseum.
