Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3278 and the Ladies Auxiliary will observe the signing of the Korean Armistice at 6:00pm, July13th, at the VFW Post located at 2300 Stephen F. Austin.  The public is invited to attend.

The Post will award The Commenrative Korean Service Medal  to Corporal Billy B. Murphey Sr. USMC Retired.

CPL Murphey was wounded in the defense of Korea and awarded the Order of the Purple Heart.   The United States involvement officially lasted over 3 years with forces still stationed there to prevent more hostilities.
