BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 6/20

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of June 12th through June 18th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 25 medical emergencies, 5 motor vehicle accidents, 9 fire calls, and 1 agency assist.

Calls of interest included:

Sunday, June 12

*11:22pm – BFD was called to an outside trash/waste fire at 2001 Austin Ave, Coggin Park, where firefighters arrived on scene to find a trash can on fire.  The red line was used to extinguish the fire.

Monday, June 13

*10:41pm – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 1300 Avenue B.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find an electrical problem with a transformer.  Oncor was notified.

Tuesday, June 14

*3:06am – BFD was called for an agency assist in the 200 block of Fisk Avenue.  Fire crews arrived on scene to assist Brownwood Police using an aerial ladder to remove people off of roof.  These subjects were arrested for criminal trespass according to police officials.

Wednesday, June 15

*4:32pm – BFD was dispatched to a fire call on County Road 417.  Fire fighters arrived to find an outside storage building on fire.  Crews extinguished the fire.

*7:06pm – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 500 block of W. Commerce involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.   BFD provided first aid & checked for injuries.

Thursday, June 16

*12:02pm – BFD responded to a two vehicle accident in the 100 block of Commerce.   Fire crews checked for injuries and provided first aid.

*2:41pm – BFD assisted in fighting a large grass fire in the 6900 block of FM 2125, near the Baptist Encampment.  Brush 1 arrived on scene with several other fire departments to assist in control and extinguishment of grass fire.  Click here for details of the fire and evacuation of the area.

*5:50pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 2500 block of 12th Street.  Firefighters arrived to find a very small charred spot on ground.

Friday, June 17

*3:42pm – BFD responded to a two vehicle accident in the 600 block of Austin Avenue.  Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.  Click here for a previous article regarding this accident.

*4:48pm – BRD was dispatched to a fire in the 19000 block of N US 183 in May, TX.   Crews arrived on scene with May VFD.   The fire was extinguished.  Click here for a previous article regarding this fire.

Saturday, June 18

*3:19am – BFD was called to a fire in the 9200 block of CR 237.  Fire crews investigated the fire which they found to be out upon arrival.

*4:21am – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 1500 block of Davis Lane.   Firefighters arrived on scene to find someone had pulled the fire alarm handle.

*2:22pm – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident which involved only one vehicle on W US Hwy 67.  Fire fighters provided first aid and checked for injuries.

*3:46pm – BFD was called to a grass fire in the 11700 block of W US 67.  Multiple agencies arrived on scene to find approx 100 acres burning.  Firefighters assisted with extinguishment of the fire.

*6:41pm – BFD responded to a one vehicle accident in the 1300 block of Vine Street where the vehicle crashed into a utility pole.  The only occupant of the vehicle was loaded into Guardian EMS and taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.  Click here for details of this accident.
