Approximately 80 National Guardsmen are at Camp Bowie this week and received a sweet surprise from the Military and Family Support Group Tuesday morning.

HSC Rear Detachment & 327 QP are having their Annual Training at the Armory.   As cookie organizers put it in their plea for donations, “These Soldiers are training in the 100+ heat.  Let’s show them how Central Texas supports our Troops!”

Joyce Leidig and Edda Ratliff of the Military and Family Support Group in Brownwood picked up 350-400 cookies today that have been donated by residents to show their support for the military.   The National Guard is one of the three branches of Texas military forces, separate from the Texas State Guard who is also at Camp Bowie for training this week.

The cookies will be given to the Guardsmen earlier this morning.
