ChildrensCampLogoThere is still space available for both younger and older kids at the 2011 Children’s Theatre Camp sponsored by the Lyric Performing Arts Company.

The Lyric Performing Arts Company will hold its annual Theatre Camp on June 6-18, 2011.

During the camp, children will be taught basic components of the theatre such as principles of the stage and drama.  Participants will also learn about technical aspects of the theatre:  sound, light and projection,  aspects of the stage, and more.

Groups will do readings, work with puppets, and participate in a play.  Performances of these plays will be at the end of the two week camp with performance on June 17 at 2:30 and 7:30, and June 18 at 2:30 which will be held at the Dorothy McIntosh Fine Arts Center Auditorium at Brownwood High School.

Classes are divided by appropriate age groups: children 6-10 from 9:00-noon  M-F and
children 11-16 from 1:00-4:00  M-F.   There is a limit on class size, so timely registration is encouraged.

Cost for the camp is $175.  Those interested can register online at www.brownwoodlyrictheatre.com or stop by 1219 Indian Creek Drive (Southside Church) to secure a spot.
