Funeral Services for Carolina Castanuela, age 78, of Midlothian, TX, will be held Tuesday May 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brown County with Father Jesus Romero officiating, interment to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. She passed away Friday May 27, 2011 at Redoak Health and Rehab in Redoak, Texas. Carolina was born on July 29, 1932 in Melvin, Texas to Asencion and Petra (DeLeon) Gonzales.
She married Pedro Castanuela on January 29, 1950 in Melvin, TX, Texas; she was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother and will be missed very dearly. She had always liked to knit, and play bingo; also she enjoyed the Rangers and Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include three daughters; Mary Perez of Brownwood, Virginia Castanuela of Midlothian, TX, and Yolanda Leal and husband Romero of Dallas, TX. Two sisters; Ventura and husband Johnny Candena of Brownwood, Catalina and husband Lalo Ruiz of Midlothian, TX. Six brothers; Jimmy Gonzales of Ft. Worth, TX, Medardo Gonzales of White Settlement, TX, Gonzalo Gonzales and wife Olivia of Newark, TX, Erasmo Gonzales and wife Elena of Brownwood, Nino Gonzales and wife Corine of Brownwood, and Richard Gonzales of Ft. Worth, TX. Also, 13 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Carolina is preceded in death by her husband; Pedro Castanuela, her parents; Asencion and Petra Gonzales; two granddaughters, 1 great-granddaughter, three sisters, and two brothers.
