simsLeoma Helen Sutter Sims, age 83, of Brownwood passed away at her home on Friday, May 13.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with President Robert Duckworth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Burial will follow in the Blanket Cemetery. Visitation will be held from
5 – 7 Sunday evening at the funeral home.

She was born November 28, 1927 in Jarrell, Texas the daughter of the late John Wm. and Lizzie Daggs Sutter. She was raised in Central Texas and had lived in Brownwood since 1977. She was a homemaker married to Homer Cole, then to Ace Cummings and then later to James Sims on December 18, 1993. They preceded her in death. She was a wonderful cook and could sew almost anything. She loved being with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She is survived by 2 sons,
Earnest Cole and his wife Joy of Gatesville, Texas
Wayne Cummings and his wife Sue of May, Texas

A Step-daughter – Asara Jean Cummings

7 Grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren

A brother – Alton Sutter of Monroe, Louisiana

Six Sisters –
Elna Davis of Hanford, California
Fay Smith of Lewisville, Texas
Lilly Eddings of Bangs, Texas
JoAnn Elkins of Blanket, Texas
Laverne Miller and Nora Morgan both of Texas

Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Homer Cole, Ace Cummings and James Sims,
A great-grandson, Kelly Cummings, 3 Brothers, John, Delbert, and Owen Sutter, and four sisters, Virginia and Patsy Sutter, Bernice White and Rosie Nell Sutter.
