Lady Jackets To Be Honored At Silver Stars Game

jacketbasketball_logoThe Howard Payne women’s basketball will be honored during the WNBA game between the San Antonio Silver Stars and Los Angeles Sparks on Friday, June 24, 2011 in San Antonio.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for our program, said HPU head women’s coach Joshua Prock, “To be recognized by an outstanding organization like the San Antonio Silver Stars is a huge honor. We greatly appreciate all their efforts in helping make this happen for those involved in our program.”

The Howard Payne women’s basketball program has been one of the most successful women’s collegiate programs in Texas over the last decade. So in conjunction with the San Antonio Silver Stars Inspiring Women’s night, the HPU women’s team will be honored for their accomplishments in the 2010-2011 season during the Silver Star’s game with the LA Sparks on Friday, June 24, 2011.

“The San Antonio Silver Stars will be hosting their annual Inspiring Women’s Night on Friday, June 24th at 7:00 pm in San Antonio Texas at the AT&T Center. It is with great pleasure that we recognize the achievements of the Howard Payne University Women’s Basketball program,” said Silver Stars representative Sarah Neatherton. “We are proud to honor individuals who embody leadership qualities, personal success, and have driven success to those around them. We hope you will join us in San Antonio for an unforgettable event!”

The game will start at 7:00 pm and HPU fans are encouraged to attend. Special group rate tickets can be purchased for $20.35 (lower level) through the HPU advancement office. Also anyone wanting to stay the night in San Antonio can receive a special rate with the Holiday Inn – Riverwalk at $95 a night, just ask for the Howard Payne rate.

Deadline for group rate tickets is June 15th. To purchase game tickets and further information please contact Sarah Collom in the HPU advancement office at 325-649-8048 or by email at [email protected] .
