CorinneTSmithLogoDon’t forget the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center is wrapping up their adopt-a-thon which started last Saturday and ends today, Friday May 6th.

From April 30 thru May 6, there have been special hours and half-price adoptions! The center’s hours during the adopt-a-thon are Mon – Fri 1pm – 6pm.

If you have been waiting for the perfect time to adopt a pet, it’s now! All cats are a maximum of $45 and all dogs are a maximum of $75. And what does that purchase besides a wonderful companion? It gets the animal fixed, micro chipped, a rabies shot, a booster shot, a heartworm test (for dogs over 6 months), and a de-flea and de-worm.  You cannot beat this deal so come out and adopt your pet today to enjoy the savings and get a new furry friend!

If you are not looking for a pet but love animals, remember the Corrine T. Smith Animal Center is always in need of monetary donations and working supplies such as:

  • Bleach
  • Cat Litter
  • Dog Collars & Leashes
  • 55 Gallon Trash Bags
  • Cat & Dog Toys
  • White Copy Paper
  • Adams Flea Shampoo
  • Adams Flea Spray
  • Dish Soap
  • HE Laundry Soap
  • Front Line Treatment
  • Advantix Treatment
  • AA Batteries
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Brushes, Combs, Deshedders
  • Riding Lawn Mower
  • Picnic Tables
  • Water Machine (drinking water for staff)
  • Volunteers

The Corinne T. Smith Animal Center is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization that receives no government funding or funding from any national animal welfare groups. The center does not receive funding from the Humane Society of the United States or the ASPCA and is completely dependent on the kindness and generosity of animal lovers in our community to allow us to continue our life-saving mission. Your support is desperately needed! The center is currently operating $1000/mo over our budget and needs your donations to stay afloat.

A “JustGive” button located on every page of their website, you will be able to make donations online, and you can even set up monthly contributions. The organization is registered with GuideStar as well.

Other great ways to contribute to the center are:

  • Tree of Life Donations: In the new CTSAC building, there is a Tree of Life. The branches were bare, but as the shelter has expanded, so have the leaves started sprouting onto the little tree. You can add leaves to the tree by donating to the shelter. Each donation to the Tree of Life will benefit the shelter, and will get you a leaf-shaped plaque on the tree. The center hopes to fill the tree with leaves by the end of the year! To purchase a leaf, donate $100 (bronze), $250 (silver), or $500 (gold) to the shelter. Come in to get a form on which you can provide what you would like your leaf to say. People have put their businesses, relatives, and of course, their pets’ names on leaves. The tree is painted on the wall in the lobby, across from the cat room. Come view this special tree and consider helping it blossom!
  • Get a Visit from Snickers:  Snickers the Dog is the CTSAC mascot and comes to all of the CTSAC events! He is people-sized and is lots of fun to be around. Snickers is the one you’ll find doing shots at the Santa Paws fundraiser and he’ll be at many of more CTSAC events from now on. In fact, for a $250 donation, Snickers will come to your event! Snickers is great at kids’ events and is just a fun fuzzy friend to have around.
