BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 5/2

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of April 24th through April 30th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 31 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 11 fire calls, 1 false alarm, and 2 electrical line hazard calls.

Calls of interest included:

Monday, April 25

*10:47am – Power Line Down Clark St / Depot St. Broken tree limb feel on phone/TV cable.  Firefighters used chainsaw to cut limb and removed limb. Street Dept was notified.

*3:46pm – Grass Fire FM 2126 / FM 2525 Arrived on scene to find approximately 1/4 acre grass fire caused by tree falling on a power line.  Fire was extinguished.  Firefighters waited until utility crews arrived.

*5:08pm – Grass Fire 825 CR 198 Arrived on scene to find a small grass fire in a backyard with no structure involvement.

*5:48pm – Grass Fire 2800 2nd St. Arrived on scene to find a very small fire in backyard.

11:38pm – Fire Call  1301 3rd St.  Responded to a call of an apartment full of smoke.  Fire fighters entered apartment and found a smoldering fire that was confined to a fireplace mantel possibly caused by a lit candle.

Tuesday, April 26

*12:53pm – Motor Vehicle Accident 1409 Belle Plain involving 2 vehicles. Fire fighters checked for injuries & provided first aid.

*3:16pm – Grass Fire US Hwy 183 Zephyr.  Assisted Zephyr VFD with 500 acre grass fire.

*5:42pm Grass Fire 6751 N 279.  Assisted with extinguishment of a small grass fire.

Thursday, April 28

*12:34pm – MVA 211 W Commerce involving 2 vehicles.  Check for injuries & provide first aid.  1 transported to BRMC.

*5:36pm – Outside trash/rubbish fire.  Fire was out upon arrival.

Friday, April 29

*2:14am – Fire Call 1301 Ave C Responded to a call of smoke in residence.  Incident was determined to be a cooking fire confined to container.

*11:03am – Utility Problem 400 blk 4th St. Power line down and arcing above houses.

*1:12pm – Grass Fire CR 320 / US 377 Fire was extinguished prior to arrival.

*4:25 – Building Fire 127 E River Oaks Rd. Arrived on scene with Early VFD. Smoke coming from roof of structure. Fire was extinguished.

Saturday, April 30

*12:12am – Building Fire 524 7th St. Arrived on scene to find a single story structure fully involved. Fire was extinguished and Fire Marshal was notified.

*10:17pm – Fire Call- Transformer on fire. Oncor notified.
