Corinne T. Smith Animal Center is having a week-long Adopt-a-thon, from Saturday, April 30, through Friday, May 6.  Saturday and Sunday they will have special hours, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.  Monday through Saturday they will stay open an extra hour, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.

This event is being done in an effort to make it easier for folks who work or are driving in from outlying towns.

During this week the Animal Center is also offering all adoptions for half-price.  Instead of $150, dog adoptions will be $75, and instead of $90, cat adoptions will be $45.  That’s a great deal, because it includes the spay or neuter, rabies and booster vaccinations, microchip, and for adult dogs-heartworm testing.

Their goal is to have an empty Adoptions building by Friday.  Everyone come out and meet your new best friend.
