Celebrating their fourth annual Dinner Theater, Victory Life Academy and the Theater Arts Department will be presenting the hilarious musical comedy, “The Ransom of Red Chief” this Friday, April 29th at 7:00 PM.

The play, written by Pam Nagel and George Wingerter, is adapted from the famous American author O. Henry’s short story of a pair of bumbling kidnapper-want-to-be culprits trying to steal a wild little boy who calls himself “Red Chief”.  Nothing could be more hilarious except possibly the citizens of Summit, Alabama who admit, “Though we are not mentally defective, we have our own perspective!”

Set in 1901, the show takes place in the sleepy hamlet of Summit, Alabama nestled among the piney forest and rolling hills of Cumberland Plateau.  This melodramatic, vaudeville-like musical is overflowing with jazzy, upbeat dancing and singing.  Watch out for a touch of audience participation as well!

Victory Life Academy cordially invites your whole family to share this fun-filled evening  as the VLA Theater Arts Department opens the pages of O. Henry’s classic, “The Ransom of Red Chief”.

Call Victory Life Academy at 325-641-ABCD (2223) for ticket and reservation information.  Deadline for reservatinos is Wednesday, April 27.

Pictured above are Cole Rasco and Logan Polaski as their characters Bill and Sam, respectively.  Bill is the brains behind the kidnapping scheme while Sam has to keep Red Chief entertained until the ransom comes through.

Below:  Cole Rasco (Bill), Blaine Ware (Red Chief), and Logan Polaski (Sam) pose in front of the old abandoned mine shaft that becomes their hideout.
