Felony Offenders Sentenced in District Court

District Attorney, Micheal Murray reported that several felony cases were recently heard in Brown/Mills County District Court, Judge Stephen Ellis presiding.

  • Jose Luis Martinez, Jr. pled guilty to the felony offense of Injury to a Child and was sentenced to Ten (10) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Arnulfo Hernandez pled guilty to the felony offense of Driving While Intoxicated and was sentenced to Nine (9) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Tanya Jean Miller pled guilty t the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Drug Free Zone and was sentenced to Eight (8) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.  Further, Miller pled guilty to the felony offense of Abandoning/Endangering a Child and was sentenced to Five (5) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Scott Allen Coker pled guilty to the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Drug Free Zone and was sentenced to Four (4) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Fletcher Nathaniel Liggin pled guilty to the felony offense of Theft under $20,000-Tubing, Rods, Wire or Cable and was sentenced to Fifteen (15) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.  Further, Liggin pled guilty to the lesser included offense of Assault and was sentenced to Six (6) Months, County Jail.
  • Manuel Gamboa, Jr. pled guilty to three separate state jail felony offenses of Forgery and was sentenced to Twelve (12) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division in each case.
