Several teams of Brownwood High School students participated at the FFA Area IV Career Development Event Contest held at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas on March 24, 2011 earning several awards and qualifying for state competitions.
The Wildlife team (pictured above) recently participated in the District FFA, Area FFA and Region FFA competitions as well. They are coached by Denzil Flood and have qualified for State Wildlife Contest to be held on May 10, 2011 in Breckenridge, Texas. The team consists of Hayden Buchanan, William Mobley, Thomas Sikes, Neil Larremore and Courtney Smith.
At District they placed 1st with Thomas Sikes placing as top individual and Neil Larremore receiving the 4th High Individual ranking.
The wildlife team placed 3rd at the Area and Region competitions with Thomas Sikes being awarded Top Individual, Neil Larremore earned 4th High Individual and William Mobley received the 8th High Individual ranking.
The Nursery Landscape Team placed 3rd, qualifying them for State FFA Nursery Landscape Contest on May 6, 2011 which will be held at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. The team is coached by Mitzi Cockerham and consists of Vance McShan, Kate Atchley, Nicole Rincon, and Becky Fowler.
Kate Atchley she earned 3rd high individual and Becky Fowler placed as 4th high individual in the Area Nursery Landscape Contest.
The Floriculture Team earned 4th place qualifying them for State FFA Floriculture Contest on May 6, 2011 which will also be held at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. The team is coached by Mitzi Cockerham and consists of Tyairra Stredic, Brandi Prado, Chantel Arriaga, and Larisa Salazar.
The Range Team finished in 5th place qualifying for State which will be held April 21, 2011 at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. The team, coached by Denzil Flood, consists of Mikayla Diaz, Matthew Lewis, Abby Day and Aspen Escamilla.

The Dairy Foods Team consists of Trey Smith, Tanner Cox, Courtney Munson, and Kayla Morgan.
The Livestock Team consists of Stephanie Chapa, Mackey Gibson, Jordyn Senkirik, and Seth Westerman.
