The Howard Payne women’s tennis team was only able to pick up the number one doubles match in an 8-1 loss to McMurry University Tuesday at the Nabers Tennis Center.

Howard Payne did start the match strong with Cassie Emerson and Gabi Crunelle winning the #1 doubles match 9-7. That was all that HPU could secure falling in all the other matchups of the afternoon.

Emilee Stephens at #3 single and Curnelle at #4 singles both fell in their second set 7-5.

Howard Payne is now 3-10 overall and 2-4 ASC, while McMurry stands at 4-14 overall and 1-2 ASC play.

The Lady Jackets will finish out the regular season on Saturday at home versus the University of Texas at Dallas starting at 12:00(noon).
