HPUFest2011logoThe contemporary Christian band Building 429 will be the headliners for the 16th annual HPU Fest at Howard Payne University on Saturday, April 9. The band is bringing their “Listen to the Sound” Tour to campus along with special guests Revive and Anthem Lights. Additional performers include the Christian hip-hop group Grits, Dallas based rock band Unveiled, Austin based acoustic artist Lainey Wright and local duo So Aware.

Concerts will be performed continuously from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Old Main Park on the HPU campus. The all-day Christian music festival is free and open to HPU and the Brownwood community.

The activities of the day include inflatable games, a chili cook-off and booths featuring HPU organizations and area businesses.

“We are looking forward to another great HPU Fest on our campus,” said Tyler Sellers, director of student activities. “We have a great lineup of bands performing this year, games and activities for all ages, and booths featuring everything from cotton candy to henna art. We hope to see everyone next Saturday for what promises to be a great day of music and fun.”

HPU Fest will be held in conjunction with Stinger Daze, a one-day event providing prospective students with the opportunity to experience student life on campus while interacting with current students, faculty and staff.  Admitted students for the Fall 2011 semester will also have the opportunity to meet their advisors and register early for classes.
