Beverly J. (Ralston) Kouterick

Beverly J. (Ralston) Kouterick, 87, of Waverly, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.  She was the loving wife of the late Merwin W. Kouterick who passed away on December 23, 1999.  The couple married January 1, 1945 and had 54 happy years together.

Family and friends are welcome to call from 10:00 AM-12:00PM on Monday, April 4, 2011 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY.  The funeral service to honor Beverly’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on April 4th at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service in Chemung Cemetery.

Beverly was born on December 8, 1923 in Binghamton, NY, daughter of the late Raymond J. and Gladys J. (Smith) Ralston.  She was a Union Endicott High School graduate, class of 1942.  After her marriage to Merwin, Beverly became a farm wife, and helped do many things around the family farm.

She was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Holstein- Frisian Association, and the Herbert S. Mattie Corral Horse Club.  She was a past member of the Chemung Town Council and a member of the Waverly Presbyterian Church.  Beverly enjoyed going to the movies and roller skating as a child, loved fishing, horses, doing crafts, cooking, and painting.

To Beverly, family was everything.  Her family includes: her son Lon (Rhonda) Kouterick of Horseheads, NY, her daughters: Raeann Kouterick of Brownwood, TX, Lissa (Brian) Petry of Chemung, NY and Virginia (William Weasonforth) Kouterick of Chemung, NY, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merwin, her son Gary Kouterick, and her brother Raymond Ralston.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Beverly’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 1316 College Ave. Elmira, NY 14901.
