Multiple law enforcement agencies and emergency teams responded to a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 67/84 about a mile east of Bangs Tuesday afternoon around 3:30pm.

A single-cab Chevy Pickup and a Ford Mustang collided on the highway, each sustaining heavy to moderate damage according to officials at the scene.  Crews cleared the vehicles from the road and a large amount of debris left by the collision.

Reports at the scene indicate that at least one person was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center via Guardian EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

No details were available as to the cause of the accident.

*According to Brownwood Police, a caretaker called officers to report that a 20-year-old man had sexual contact with the 16-year-old girl.  Officials state that although the situation was consensual, the man identified as Steven Pinkard now faces criminal charges of Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact.

The girl’s room where she sleeps is an outbuilding on the property, similar to a storage building but made into a loft type bedroom situation according to police.

BPD officials state that the parents of the girl are vacationing in Australia and left her in the care of a responsible adult with specific instructions that Pinkard was not allowed on the property.

According to the report, the caretaker became aware of the situation Monday morning when Pinkard entered the main house asking her, “What’s for breakfast Baby?”   She then notified police.

Both Pinkard and the girl confessed to their relationship according to BPD Assistant Chief James Fuller.  Pinkard was arrested on Monday and charged with Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact.

*7:50pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at BPD regarding a burglary of a vehicle.  The complainant stated that someone entered her vehicle and stole a movie out of the passenger seat while she was visiting a friend at the Woodland Crest Apartments.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report.

*9:29pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 2601 Crockett Drive, Brownwood Regional Medical Center.  Rudolfo Reyna was located in the emergency room.  After an investigation, Reyna was arrested for Public Intoxication.
