Ruthie Jean Seaton Burleson, age 71, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Heartland Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Richland Springs Cemetery. She passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Burleson was born on July 22, 1939 in Brownwood, Texas to Paul M. and Velma Ruth McHorse Seaton. She graduated from Early High School, received her bachelors degree from Howard Payne University and her masters degree in San Antonio. She taught public school in several towns but the majority of her teaching career was in San Antonio where she taught Spanish. On June 13, 1970 she married Lewis Edward Burleson in Brownwood and he preceded her in death on March 23, 2002.

Son: Robert Edward Burleson of San Antonio, Texas

Step daughter: Lou Ann Boyd of Fort Worth, Texas

Mother: Velma (Ruth) Seaton of Brownwood, Texas

Sisters: Cheryl Puckett and husband James of Bangs, Texas
Pauletta Warren of Sweetwater, Texas

Two grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, father and one brother M. Olsey Seaton.
