D3hoops.com – The 2011 D3hoops.com All-Region Teams were announced this week and Howard Payne men’s basketball had junior guard Brandon Irwin honored on the list.

Second Team All-South Region Brandon Irwin finished second in the ASC in scoring at 19.2 points per game. He also led the ASC in 3-point FG pct at 42.7%. He was twice named ASC Player of the Week and named once to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week. Brandon passed 1,000 points in his career midway through the season.

Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools. There were 680 players nominated nationwide, a new high. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region.
