Lyric Performing Arts Company Announces 2011 Production Schedule

LyricLogoThe Lyric Performing Arts Company announced its schedule for upcoming productions and events for their 2011 season.

A production of the childrens’ play Treasure Island will kick off the season in May followed by their annual Childrens’ Theatre Camp in June.   Productions of Steel Magnolias and My Fair Lady will finish out the season in June and July.

The full schedule includes:

Treasure Island – children’s play  May 23-25

  • May 23 at 9:00, 11:00, 1:00
  • May 24 at 9:00, 11:00, 1:00 and 7:30 pm
  • May 25 at 9:00, 11:00, 1:00

 

Childrens’ Theatre Camp June 6-18

  • Children 6-10 from 9:00-noon  M-F
  • Children 11-16 from 1:00-4:00  M-F

Performances – June 17 at 2:30 and 7:30, and June 18 at 2:30

Steel Magnolias

June 9, 10, 11 at 7:30, and June 12 at 2:30

My Fair Lady

July 14, 15, 16 at 7:30, July 16 and 17 at 2:30

July 21, 22, 23 at 7:30, July 22 and 24 at 2:30

Auditions for the community musical, My Fair Lady, will be held at the HPU Theatre on Sunday, March 20th at 1:30 pm.  Auditioners are asked to bring sheet music for the pianist and sing a song from a musical, but not necessarily My Fair Lady.

Those auditioning will be asked to sing, then will be taught a short dance combination, and then will be asked to read from the script.  LPAC will not be auditioning teenagers or children at this time.  Performances for this year’s production will be the weekends of July 15-17 & 22-24.
