CorinneTSmithLogoSomething to bark about:  March 18th at 6pm will be annual Canines, Cats, and Cabernet fundraiser for the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center.  Rex Tackett will be back again as the auctioneer.  Mascot “Snickers” will also be in attendance.

Last year ticket sales, silent auction and donations raised nearly $25,000.  This event helped keep the center’s budget in the black, barely, according to Administrator Freda Day.  It is hoped that the event can raise $35,000 this year.

“We’ve sold a lot of tickets, but we can always sell more,” stated Day.

Tickets are priced at $45 each, and this year’s goal is to sell 250.  Ticketholders receive a night of gourmet food and all the wine you can drink.  Money from ticket sales and revenue from auctions will benefit CTSAC and ensure that the animals at the center are kept happy, healthy, and adoptable!  For tickets please contact Leona Berry at leonaberry04@msn.com.

Food vendors, beer vendors, and wine vendors from last year will be back again to please the palates.  Brennan Winery of Comanche will be pouring their own wines.

Live music will be performed by pianist Debra Mathis.

Be sure to bring your checkbooks, there are many wonderful items will be available in the silent and live auctions such as:

  • A Signed Paula Deen Cookbook
  • Signed Books Written by Temple Grandon (Award winning author & animal behavioralist)
  • Leather Sofa
  • All Things Golf Basket
  • Two Trips:  To the West and East Coasts
  • Travel Vouchers
  • Coffee Basket (includes a coffee maker)
  • Various Goodies

Day spoke of the way things have come together this year with help from volunteers and that it will better than ever.

“It’s amazing how it’s coming together,” stated Day. “Barkier than ever!”

Everybody’s going to be there, so don’t miss it: March 18th at the Depot Civic & Cultural Center, 600 E. Depot, Brownwood, TX.
